Why I pick w910i over iPod Touch

A couple of months ago I got myself an iPod touch because it’s pretty. It sure is pretty and flashy, managed to turn heads everytime I pull it out of my pocket. Great gadget, I must say. It’s like having a little mac.
After toying (and getting used) with it for two months I switched back to my lovely SonyEricsson w910i. Here’s why:
I cannot skip tracks on the go.
Well I can, but it’s a hassle and it’s very dangerous both for me and the iPod. To skip tracks on iPod touch I have to: press the home button > slide on the screen to unlock > press next button > tap the lock button.
Here’s how I skip tracks on my w910i: press and hold the goddamned volume button.
Skipping tracks easily is essential. Period.
It is relatively big, and the screen is somewhat feels vulnerable.
That’s why I’m afraid of putting it inside my pocket because I might break it or scratch the screen. It’s too beautiful. Different with the w910, it feels tough and I can literally shake it.
The earphone is not that great.
It’s nothing special, it’s just the regular iPod earphone, I got the same one when I bought a shuffle a few months ago. It’s not that I’ve very sensitive ear, it’s just that the earphones don’t reduce any noice from outside so I still hear the vroom vrooms and honk honks. And it sucks :(
I’m not saying that iPod Touch is not a good gadget, it’s just that I can’t use it optimally so it only resides in the pocket of my backpack now. Sad, yes. But I hope there will come the time when I can use it again. And also I’m not saying that w910 is a better gadget, it just happen to be the best music player for me now.
And of course, there are some neat features I miss from the iPod that w910 doesn’t have. Genius playlist. It fucking rocks dude, srsly.
The episode where the key wouldn’t go in
I was just leaving from my auntie’s place with mom this morning when the motorbike’s key stuck and it won’t go in. Weird, because it’s the same key I’ve been using ever since I bought the MX. The key could open the saddle, but it won’t go in the.. dem, what do you call that hole where you put the key in to start the bike?
So I went to a tukang kunci to find out what’s going on. The tukang kunci then came to my place and picked the arm lock, peeked the inside of the keyhole. Quickly, he came into conclusion that there was something inside the keyhole, and he picked it out with some macgyver tools.
5 minutes and the key now could get in. For IDR 50k.
“Wow, that’s very expensive!”, my auntie cried. But I paid the guy despite her protests and send him off in peace.
My auntie asked why did I pay that much when I could’ve bargained. It shouldn’t have cost that much, it’s only a five minute easy work, she said. Well maybe because I know how working like that Mr. Tukang Kunci feels like. It’s about expertise, people. About time for everyone to understand this *sigh*
Just because they make it look easy, doesn’t mean it’s easy.
Note: post written several months ago, been drafted ever since. I’m cleaning up the drafts tonight :)
On my desktop wallpaper
I need recommendation.
You see, my desktop is a bit dull. I was so used to seeing Leopard’s Grass Blades but now I’m sick of it, I need something new. This whole day I’ve been trying to use every single image in my DeviantArt collection to no avail, nothing seems to look good enough :(
What’s your desktop wallpaper, guys? Care to share?
BTW this is bening’s wallpaper. Um.. meh :))

Back studying
It was two years ago that I left college. I always say the reason was because I got a job and was busy with it, but the truth is.. I hated it. Now I remember why.
The staffs back then got their head up their ass. Unfuckingbelieveably cocky. Some still, but now things have changed. After two years the staffs turned over and the ones left are the less-annoying and my good friends. Yes, they graduated a year ago and worked in the campus.
So now I’m dragging my lazy ass to finish my study and get myself an S, Kom.
I’m starting next semester and I have less than a year to finish. Shouldn’t be a problem, I have many insider friends and I’m smart. No shit. I AM smart. But I’m lazy :|
And don’t wish me luck please, it makes me feel I’m not good enough. I am good, I don’t need luck. I just need to stop being lazy.
What did you do this weekend?
Me, I went to Jakarta. Arrived Thursday, then went straight to a date with Vibhy. Then I went to Rifie’s wedding with the @jtug guys, we were noisy weren’t we? :p
Yesterday was the first time I met @fajarjasmin, @LeonnieFM, @neofreko, @SofiaKartika and @patvandiest’s @witasoy. As expected, everyone on @jtug are very familiar, I feel like we’re a big family. I love how you guys are not ‘jaim’ (someone please find a english word for it before our grammar nazi scold me) :D
Rifie looked very happy, I wish you and Heru live happily ever after!
I had a blast and I rediscovered things long lost forgotten, including how to tie my shoe lace, sleeping with a boy, and appreciating beauty.

Borrowing Bond’s line on The Quantum of Solace, answering a question by a friend “Are you two back again?”
I never left.
Rob Paravonian’s Pachelbel Rant
Really now, I wouldn’t post a video unless it’s worth watching.
This guy Rob really hates Pachelbel with a passion =))
October TweetUp: @kapkap’s henshin and the ferris wheel
Previous TweetUp was a blast! Grand Indonesia, 8 October, 7pm.
The participants were not as many as the first tweetup I attend two months ago, but really dude, this one rocks :D
Started off with dinner, then the girls went gossipping as me and the boys copying videos (more like me leeching @patvandiest :p). Highlights of the night were (eng ing eng) Read the rest of this entry →
10 things anima
- I’m bad at writing intros and colophon pages. Therefore, this list starts just like this :p
Thanks to Pat for throwing this to me, yes, this blog has become dried too lately - Based on recent conversation with @budi on Y!M, my criteria of a perfect girlfriend is:
- cute
- speaks English
- computer & internet savvy
- uses *NIX (preferably Ubuntu or OSX)
- Like everyone else, I am addicted to music too. I always have my w910i with me, for me it’s the best music player there is. I always look for spots where I can sit alone and listen to my music alone.Lately I listen to OneRepublic, The Script, Younha, DJ Sammy, Sara Bareille, George Winston, Johann Pachelbel and.. Visien Vinesa aka @Exeunt. No shit. Really.
- I can’t say I have a sleeping disorder, but my sleep is not in order. I prefer to work at night (as in after midnight) when there’s not much distraction out there. But then again, the whole internet is a major distraction.Nap is a luxury to me. When you’re up through the night working you’d think that napping is mandatory. I wish I have more time to sleep.
- I don’t always have to have the latest or most sophisticated gadget around, but what I have should never be outdated and I use them to the max.
- Procrastination is my middle name.
- I keep my life log here in this blog. This includes moments in my life when I’m starting a relationship as well as ending it.Well, that’s the thing with relationships, innit? It breaks.I like to keep the posts on my previous stories because I want to remind myself of what I’ve felt back then. It is always a good idea to look back and learn from what happened. That’s why we call it blog, web log :)
- I don’t eat fish and any other creatures that dwells in water. Why? Because I don’t like to.When I say I’m allergic to it, it’s just a quick escape so I don’t have to explain the puke if you force mt to eat it anyway.
- I wish to go to Japan someday, I want to work there. I don’t know, there’s something about that country that dazzles me. The people, the culture, everything about it looks cool.
- I have a thing to girls with instruments, Canon in D and atheism.
Now who am I supposed to throw this at? You know what, @budi, it’s you. Come bring that dead blog back to life with this dude!
PHOENIX DOWN!
