A couple of months ago I got myself an iPod touch because it’s pretty. It sure is pretty and flashy, managed to turn heads everytime I pull it out of my pocket. Great gadget, I must say. It’s like having a little mac.

After toying (and getting used) with it for two months I switched back to my lovely SonyEricsson w910i. Here’s why:

I cannot skip tracks on the go.

Well I can, but it’s a hassle and it’s very dangerous both for me and the iPod. To skip tracks on iPod touch I have to: press the home button > slide on the screen to unlock > press next button > tap the lock button.

Here’s how I skip tracks on my w910i: press and hold the goddamned volume button.

Skipping tracks easily is essential. Period.

It is relatively big, and the screen is somewhat feels vulnerable.

That’s why I’m afraid of putting it inside my pocket because I might break it or scratch the screen. It’s too beautiful. Different with the w910, it feels tough and I can literally shake it.

The earphone is not that great.

It’s nothing special, it’s just the regular iPod earphone, I got the same one when I bought a shuffle a few months ago. It’s not that I’ve very sensitive ear, it’s just that the earphones don’t reduce any noice from outside so I still hear the vroom vrooms and honk honks. And it sucks :(

I’m not saying that iPod Touch is not a good gadget, it’s just that I can’t use it optimally so it only resides in the pocket of my backpack now. Sad, yes. But I hope there will come the time when I can use it again. And also I’m not saying that w910 is a better gadget, it just happen to be the best music player for me now.

And of course, there are some neat features I miss from the iPod that w910 doesn’t have. Genius playlist. It fucking rocks dude, srsly.
